The Queensland Ethical Standards Command will evaluate an incident in the state’s north after a “disturbing” video emerged showing a law enforcement officer appearing to strike a woman a number of times in the face.

Video footage of the alleged run-in in Charters Towers published to social media reveals 2 ladies attempting to shield a teen while law enforcement officer and the females are heard chewing out each other.

A cop appears to hit one lady in the confront with his open palm, while his coworker attempts to intervene and separate the pair.

The women in the video can be heard shouting “Let her go” and “This is unneeded, why is this taking place?”.

“She’s under arrest,” said among the officers.

Neighbours told the ABC cops were called to a home in Towers Street where two groups were associated with an altercation.Opposition leader Deb Frecklington stated police had a” difficult task”but there could be circumstances that were not understood.”We require individuals to respect them whilst they’re doing that hard work however what I would say is we require to let that investigation to occur,”she said.”The video is quite troubling,”she said. “a spokesperson said.Queensland Authorities Union president Ian Leavers said he supports the officers included” 100 per cent”.

“They had a job to do and the parents wished to get involved and their actions actually state everything, “he said.Mr Leavers said the officer who was allegedly assaulted by a lady in the vide revealed “great restraint”.

“If you desire to spit or bite an officer you can anticipate the full force … That is inappropriate, “he said”Is there wonder we have juvenile criminal offense when we have parents acting like that.”
