Grissom, who supposedly drove the suspect automobile, was detained Tuesday and confessed to her participation, according to court records. Ford, who apparently fired shots from Grissom’s cars and truck, and Cooking area, who supposedly published live video of the shooting on Instagram, were arrested Wednesday.
TPD detectives stated Grissom and her boyfriend Ford were distressed about “false information” that had actually been posted to social media. Lincoln High School’s school resource deputy identified Grissom as the victim of a fight that happened off campus on Tuesday.
Grissom and Ford went to a house complex to confront the lady they stated made the social media post.
The shooting victim informed police he saw an Instagram video that revealed a run-in in between a female who was the desired target of the shooting, and Ford and Grissom both having fun with semi-automatic pistols.
Concerned, the victim drove to the lady’s house to warn her that a shooting instead of a fist fight could take place. There, he came across Ford and Grissom in the parking area.
He repelled, however Grissom and her 2 passengers followed. As the victim turned onto Blair Stone Road just north of Park Avenue, he saw Ford stick his arm out of the sunroof of Grissom’s cars and truck and fire at him. The victim was not damaged, though his rear windshield was shattered in the shooting.
Court records state the shooting was taped live on Kitchen area’s Instagram account, which was later erased. She and Ford were apprehended by TPD’s Profession Crook System and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Police reviewed the video and saw Grissom pursue the victim, followed by multiple gunshots. Grissom, who was detained at her aunt’s home, confessed to her involvement in the shooting. She stated it stemmed from an online post that angered her and that she knew Ford was equipped with two firearms.
Cops recovered six spent.40-caliber bullet cases on Blair Stone Roadway.
The shooting is the 4th this year in the capital city and county, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of weapon violence.
