Rumours circulating on social networks of a supposed ‘sex trafficking ploy’ in Burnaby are false, says the city’s RCMP detachment.Burnaby RCMP stated it understands the posts, however to date hasn’t been able to find a report or an investigation related to the claim.The post, variations of which are being commonly shared
on social networks platforms including Facebook and Instagram, claims a woman was patronizing ‘Northgate Shopping Mall’in Burnaby when she found a$100 costs taped to her car with a red ribbon, and a guy seeing from a nearby van.The lady apparently called police, who informed her it’s an approach being used by sex traffickers to abduct ladies and kids.
