KNOWLES: Trump Sends Out Right Message With Social Media Summit|Daily Wire
On Thursday’s episode of “The Michael Knowles Program,” Knowles talks about President Donald Trump’s social media top and why it is an important minute for conservatives. Video and partial transcript listed below:
What is the Social Network Top? Trump invited his most ardent social networks supporters to the White House to talk about censorship. CNN, now that they have to report on this, has been describing them as right-wing extremists. They say the White Home remains in turmoil as the conservative extremists descend! So, who was welcomed?
The head of the Trainees for Trump. A Twitter account named “Carpe Donktum”, which describes itself as “the permanently sarcastic meme-smith focusing on the production of memes to support President Donald J. Trump.” Also, the talk show host Costs Mitchell, who is a substantial Trump fan. His Twitter banner is simply like a radiant, golden picture of Donald Trump. These are not reactionary individuals. He’s not welcoming white nationalists, neo-Nazis and all the regular gang that the mainstream media scaremongers with. He is, nevertheless, inviting eccentric individuals. I suggest among the person’s names is “Carpe Donktum.” That’s quite eccentric.
This sends the best message. The message that this is sending out is that the White House is not going to pull back on this. So, he’s threatening stating there will be repercussions. What will the consequences be? I do not understand, and he probably does not understand. However he’s saying there will be. He then holds the top, which in itself reveals that they’re taking this seriously. Crucially, he’s not simply inviting the buttoned-up individuals.
He’s not just welcoming the ones who have bow ties on and who are actually super-serious and have a great deal of law degrees. He’s inviting these hard-core pro-Trump social media accounts. With names like Carpe Donktum. He’s saying we’re not going to provide an inch. We’re not going to apologize at all. It sends a crucial message going into 2020.
So, what is the message that Trump is sending here into 2020? The previous GOP strategy. This resembles BT. We’re dividing time between BT and AT, the Year of Our Trump. In BT, in “before-Trump” time, the GOP would have experienced all this censorship. Would have experienced all of this slander and all of these smears and they would’ve remained peaceful– don’t dignify it with a response, don’t acknowledge the eccentric figures in our ranks. People who offer themselves names like Carpe Donktum and who publish memes all over Twitter– no, we just use bow ties and go to truly elegant lunches in Washington. That was the old method. I enjoy George W. Bush, however George W. Bush did not understand how to deal with the media. Very same thing with Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney had no idea how to manage the media and still does not. Trump doubles down.
He does not just double down and state I safeguard this individual; I safeguard their right to complimentary speech. He doubles down about how great looking he is. He invites Carpe Donktum to the White House. This shows boldness. It’s not just words. It’s not just paying lip service to giving everyone a reasonable shot. He is really showing that boldness himself. We speak about this all the time. The best defense is an excellent offense. This has actually always been the case.
