PVHS principal eliminates indication from lunchroom after social media storm

PINSON– The principal of Pinson Valley High School is working to clean up reports after receiving social media reaction over an indication published in the school’s cafeteria.

According to Principal Michael Turner, the Child and Nutrition Program Supervisor posted a sign that said, “NO CASH FOR LUNCH?? NO LUNCH.”

“The sign is not a precise representation of what our policy is for students who intend on charging for lunch due to the fact that they don’t have the cash or the funds,” said Turner.

Turner said the CNP manager implied to communicate to the kids that if they did not have lunch cash, they would receive an alternative lunch. Alternative lunches consist of a cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with fruit and milk. Even with the option for an alternative lunch, Turner stated he would rather pay out-of-pocket for trainees to consume than have a kid go hungry.
