Social media takes off with mockery after Trump jokes about Chuck Todd’s “Meet the Depressed”
This morning, President Trump took to Twitter and knocked MSNBC Chuck Todd, who he referred to as “Sleepy Eyes,” and retitled his show as “Meet the Depressed.”
Thank you to Great Republican Politician @SenJohnKennedy for the task he carried out in representing both the Republican Celebration and myself versus Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd on Meet the Depressed!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 2, 2019
Plainly pleased with the efficiency that his cheerleader John Kennedy put on while appearing on the vaguely left-leaning news network, Trump decided to thank him with a public Trump Statement of Approval and took some low-cost jabs at his competitors.
What he didn’t expect was the profusion of jokes and mockery from social networks as Twitter users rapidly took on the admittedly entertaining name “Meet the Depressed.”
Here’s a collection of the best reactions.

Lots of users were dissatisfied to find that “meet the depressed” did not refer to a mental health destigmatization campaign however in fact was just the President being a petty little child who likes drama, again.
so ‘meet the depressed’ is trending because of carrot-man acting like a preschooler, however it SHOULD be trending to eliminate the preconception. You are NOT a burden and you are totally legitimate in your feelings. If you are struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out. Much love mdudes

(@pan_demigoddess)December 2, 2019 I believed Meet the Depressed was trending due to the fact that of the preconception surrounding significant depression. You do not need to know the genuine reason it’s trending. It’s dumb. If you’re handling depression, please know there are resources for you. The disease makes you believe you’re not deserving

Uh, people? Hurry Limbaugh has actually been calling it “Satisfy the Depressed” for years. That’s likely where President Best Words got it. https://t.co/z7i8jDjyxp
